In this step, you will start rounding the pipe. As you can see on the picture above, I have just begun to make the left side of the pipe more round. Again, you will be using the rough side of your file for this step.

In the 2nd picture you'll see that the entire "bottom" part of the pipe has been rounded. When we are making a "plains" pipe, we like to make the bottom part of the pipe in the shape of a horseshoe. This could also be made in the shape of a circle or oval. This is a step where you can exhibit some of your own personal preference and style.

Once you are done shaping the bottom part of the pipe, you can do the same to the top part of the pipe where the tobacco will be inserted.
